The ‘Exploding seeds’ birdhouse concept interacts with nature. The house contains a biophilic design approuch that includes a lime clay structure mixed with native seeds that include a variety of flowers, herbs and grasses. It is a completely bio degradeble design that functions only a few nests seasons. Due to the weather and environmental influences the house will disolve, birds will fly out, seeds will be spread and nature continues to grow.
The design catalysts the locale nature cycle by interlocking new plants in the existing environment. Native seed species are the most important ingredient. Depending on the specific location, seeds of native plants, flowers and herbs can be harvested by the creator of the house. Once the house is completed and attached to a wall, seeds will drop on the ground and birds spread them due to their natural behavior. Germination starts and nature is unlocked and scattered into new territories.
Dandelion seeds are a beautiful example of the natural need and drift to enrich the local habitat. The bird house mimics this principal. Four 3d printed brackets are the main components that provide you the basic structure. They can be printed with a circular solvable filament. The rest is up to the creator. The creator attaches fresh willow twines to the brackets that will form the framework. The top layer is a mixture of lime, water and native seeds that will harden through time. Only local available materials are proposed, therefore the shape is not rock solid. The creation process depends on the creator and its moment. Technical specifications like ventilation and interior size are set up as guidelines.
